Hilltown Community Development Corporation has had a busy fall in developing affordable housing it the communities it serves. First, Hilltown celebrated the completion of eight units of affordable senior housing in Westhampton. This is the second phase of a project initiated by seniors in Westhampton concerned that as they aged (and their households became smaller), they would not be able to continue to reside in their home town. At an event attended by Aaron Gornstein, Peter Kocot, and many others, members of the affordable housing community from all over Massachusetts cheered the completion of the project. Don Bianchi has a wonderful write up of the event here: http://www.macdc.org/content/westhampton-woods-shape-things-come
AND
Hilltown has closed the refinancing of its scattered site project in Haydenville, Williamsburg and Chesterfield. This refinancing will support renovations to six buildings and sustains another 24 units of affordable housing for low income residents. Congratulations to Dave Christopolis, Paul Lischetti, Toni Hochstadt and everyone else at Hilltown for the tremendous effort to bring both these projects to fruition!
