My first moment of actual excitement in this long, ugly presidential campaign arrived this week with a piece on CNN by Tim Kaine about his experience as a young lawyer representing a woman of color in a housing discrimination case. It was so refreshing after all the language from Donald Trump about Mexican rapists and banning Muslims and President Obama being a “founding member” of ISIS that we finally, finally have someone talking in a constructive way about a real problem that has real solutions. I tweeted the article three times (probably to the annoyance of the few followers I have on Twitter) but it is just so refreshing to have a serious person on the national stage talking about housing discrimination and what can be done to combat it. Tim Kaine has a new fan!
